You're building your conclusion on the premise that groups give you better reasoning, but this isn't right. Groups don't give you better reasoning, groups give you more average reasoning. Average is not necessarily better. If you want something average, get a large group. If you want something better than average, you need above-average individuals. Yes, this is more risky, but at least your chance of beating "average" becomes non-zero.

cool vid but it has some floors trust once given is hard to revoke and question. What is genetic and what is cultural in behavior. I seen a few other issues as well. People will give reasons to not be seen as silly. Were the people told that they would need to give reason for their choice before they chose? it is also easier for one to influence many with technology and without their knowledge. You can pay big data company's to make the world think they thought something was what they believe on mass.

Just a quick heads-up: The logic puzzle about Peter, Mary and Paul only works under the assumption that one cannot be "NOT married AND NOT unmarried" While from the real world, we know that to be the case, for the puzzle specifically we technically do not have sufficient information to conclude the same thing is true. The puzzle therefore requires the following additional axioms: "Any person is either married or unmarried. Peter, Paul and Mary are members of the set of persons."

This whole video is actually Hypocritical! Michael states in his video that Reasoning should belong to a collective of minds and makes some interesting arguments to back that up However this whole video was done by One Individual Reasoning Viewpoint (I.e. Michael himself) which goes against everything that he said in the video thereby resulting in a loop of logic. Let me know what you think in the comments below! :D

  29. yep who cares

    Prieš 3 val

Thats not a logic puzzle. Its an information redirect made to confuse your memory since the names are all common enough to get us second guessing ourselves since they start with the same letter. Mary doesn't matter. Mark out everything that isn't information. However since it's a test we focus on each word. Being a puzzle we think its trying to trick us, leading us to over think and you end up trucking yourself. Telling yourself that you can't be correct in thinking its sl simple. You force memory changes until you find reassurance of your choice

18:33 - This is either a flawed analogy or intellectually dishonest. You're not "providing _reasons_ to win them over", nor are you altering the reasons that made you reach your original "conclusion" (decision) about going to ABC Burgers. You're actually providing solutions to your friend's problems (which he presents as objections). You couldn't possibly have thought about them in advance (nor should they have been relevant in your original decision-making process) because you didn't know what your friend's objections would be. You're not altering (or even refining) your decision-making process. You still want to go to ABC Burgers for the same reasons (because you like their food, or it's close to where you live, or you want to flirt with the waiter etc.). Addressing your friends objections (at least the examples given) is a completely separate process.

I agree and want all of this, but my first concern that comes to mind is, how will we protect the identity of the people chosen at random? Especially the first group...even if the debating and group reasoning isn’t made public, someone somewhere will find out who the people are in this group that provides recommendations & changes for the rest of a country/the world. If a demographic doesn’t like what one of those people changed, the demographic could possibly become angry and wish to cause harm to that person. How do we prevent that?

I don't believe in crowd wisdom, I think it's flawed, and that crowds will always be wrong. This is my intuition and bias. I think only *time* gives wisdom. I find that the more people think a certain way, the less likely it is to be accurate. What appears to be true for me, is principles and ideas that have evolved with time. Crowds are ignorant, and easily fooled by a few. So I think nature and tradition and folk lore can help humanity find its path more than hundreds of scientist apes that are disconnected from their roots and only seek answers by studying the materialistic world today. They will never have wisdom, only a billion of facts, and society will be controlled by money not truth.

I think great filter is too fast evolution that lost it's ecological brakes and counterweights. The fist was maybe cognitive revolution by homo sapiens since 70 000 years ago, which made us top predator that other species couldn't keep up with. Many other technological inventions since then were the same. Since industrial revolution we can't even keep up with our own development. AI is another mile stone that we can't follow, or control. Our instinctive tendency to growth - in economy this case - supported by AI... could erase life on Earth. Before we meet other civilisations from outer space. Breaks and counterweights by ecology must never be ignored!
