If we as a species saw another species that reproduces as rapidly and as foolishly as we have and continue to do, we would curtail it. Citing basically every concern on this show for doing so....yet when it's us over populating and killing the planet it's fine. Every global level threat can be mitigated with one solution...population control. Pandemics. Energy crisis. Global warming. Deforestation etc etc I'm not advocating for a mass cull (though that WILL be the outcome if we do nothing) currently our global birth rate is higher than the deaths....that's an unsustainable growth regardless of out current population.

Not sure if I should be laughing or crying. "Close down all wildlife markets", "Bad factory farming", "Stop eating meat", "Halt deforestation", "Shut down all state fairs" "Will never happen because it's too draconian". What is acceptable and not draconian though is locking down entire worldwide human populations forcing over 100 million people into severe poverty, drastically increasing depression and suicide, Decimating small business and entrepreneurs, drive an even larger gap between middle class and wealthy and oh maybe 100 other severe consequences of global draconian legislation against the most vulnerable of society. I guess what he's saying is that we could never force or expect drastic legislative measures taken against the powerful and wealthy but we can crush the vulnerable low and middle class societies with the same principles. When did globalization ever help the environment or the vulnerable in society? Nope I am sure, it's tears and not laughter.

There really has never been any such thing as freedom on Earth. This being due to Humans being absolutely incapable of true reason and following the golden rule. If and when we rid it of thieves, rulers incapable of true leadership, killers, rapists, extortionists, prevaricators, pedophiles, war mongers, religious sycophants, destitution, disease, miseducation and you can add to this list if you wish. Note that destitution is about the only thing on this list that we can't find a politician who doesn't do. We've been waiting 3000 years for legitimacy in Government and still we get confusion, extortion, elitism, war mongering, pandering, victimizing, red tape, prevarication, separation, miseducation, malfeasance in health, perversion, etcetera, need I go on? Unfortuantely we really suck at long-term planning. It's like our species' kryptonite... It certainly doesn't help that absolutely everyone everywhere - myself included - keep thinking we need to get *back to normal* which is how we got here in the first place. It also doesn't help that some people with an incredible amount of money saw a gigantic increase in profits either. I'm just hoping that the all-consuming, crushing debt governments around the globe are facing might motivate them to make some small changes - though I doubt it will. It'd be great if we could come together as a species and work to stop us from annihilating ourselves, but unfortunately I don't think the world is ready to let go of the stupid idea of countries and borders yet. The issues we face now are global, we can't keep pretending that we're independant when anything anyone does can have such a global effect on the survival of humanity.

I’m very surprised that people don’t understand the consequences of not actively combatting a global pandemic such as Covid-19. While yes, you can ignore all the mandates handed out by government, it would be naive to think that you are “totally safe” just because you aren’t in hospice or are a senior. Covid-19 since Dec. 17th has become the leading cause of death in the US for anyone ages 45 and up. While yes, your age can play a role in the fatality of Covid, the risk of contracting the virus is the same for everyone. The issue for young people such as myself are the pre-existing medical conditions millions of people in the US and other countries have (Such as Diabetes, Obesity, Asthma, etc). Such health conditions make young people easy targets to die from Covid.,a%20weakened%20immune%20system. Also, many young people are sure to experience chronic after effects and conditions as a result of contracting Covid. Covid can trigger numerous other deadly conditions that could most definitely leave even a young person dead. So yes, you are free to do what you want, you are free to “get back to your lives and leave us in the dust”. But people should be aware, you reap what you sow, and there’s a lot of acres left in the field

People just don't realize how close we were to having a disease that is thousands of times more deadly and spreads at a ridiculously faster rate. This is known to most as Avian flu, known to some as "h5n1"( however there can be other forms of this like a newer form h5n8 ). This influenza is airborne and has a death rate of 60%.... to put that into perspective the sars cov-2 virus has a mortality rate of .03%. We were lucky that the spread human has experienced a few years ago wasn't as effective of transmission between humans. That being said it only take 1 mutation to charge that and make it more effective. Russia just confirmed a case of h5n8, we aren't sure how deadly this variant is, or if it has spread. Please be safe and remember to follow precautions, as these are the best ways to prevent the spread.
